WHAT TO EXPECT FROM MY TALKS
A Different Way of Seeing Things
Being human is funny. We overthink. We try to predict what hasn’t happened yet.
We put things off because they feel uncomfortable. And we keep doing things that aren’t particularly helpful, often for perfectly understandable reasons.
As a Mind Coach and speaker, I’m fascinated by the very human things we do and what’s going on underneath them. I bring those everyday behaviours to life through stories, humour and practical insights that help people see things a little differently.
My talks are designed to create those “Oh! That’s what I’m doing” moments, helping people recognise themselves and their choices, and giving them useful ideas they can take back into work and life.
Featured Talk
THE POWER OF FUN
Fun isn’t fluff. It’s feedback.
We tend to think of fun as the nice-to-have stuff. Something we get to when the work is done, the pressure is off and there’s finally enough time.
But fun can tell us something useful about how we’re doing.
The Power of Fun explores Connection, Playfulness and Flow, three things that tend to be present when we’re functioning well, and what we might notice when there’s less of them in our lives and workplaces.
Through stories, humour and practical insights, I invite audiences to look at fun differently. Not as frivolous or something else to add to the to-do list, but as a surprisingly useful signal that something may need our attention.
People leave with a different perspective on what helps them function well, and some simple ways to bring more of it back.
In this session we explore:
why fun can be a useful signal of how we're doing
the role of Connection, Playfulness and Flow
what happens when responsibility and pressure crowd those things out
simple ways to bring more of what energises us back into everyday life
Also Speaking About…
THE HUMAN THINGS WE DO
Why do clever, capable people try to predict futures they can’t possibly know, put off things they need to do, or wait to feel confident before doing something they genuinely want to do?
Because we’re human.
The Human Things We Do is an entertaining and practical look at some of the wonderfully counterintuitive things our minds do when faced with fear and uncertainty.
It’s about recognising the patterns that can get in our way, building self-trust and learning that we don’t always need to feel ready before we take the next step.
Talks that connect
I don’t believe a great talk is about standing at the front of a room and telling people how they should live their lives.
It’s about helping people recognise something in themselves.
I use stories, humour and relatable examples to create those moments that make people laugh, think and leave seeing something a little differently.
“A stunning presentation. People sat up and listened.”
“We were all glued to what she was saying.”
“A very natural presenter.”
“She brought great energy, kept everyone engaged, and helped create a relaxed, open atmosphere.”
